Non-Drug Treatment

TMS uses electromagnetic pulses to stimulate a part of the brain that controls emotions.

• FDA Approved for Depression

TMS was approved as a safe and effective treatment for Major Depressive Disorder by the FDA in 2008.

• Safe & Non-Invasive

TMS is non-invasive, painless, and very safe. Patients are aware, awake, and anesthesia is not required. A series of treatments is required for optimal results.

• No Systemic Side Effects

Unlike medications, TMS does not cause any systemic side effects.

• Effective

Up to 60% of patients respond to treatment, and around 25% will be depression free! Once 3 antidepressants have failed, TMS is 2-3 times more likely to help then another medication trial.

• Covered by Insurance

TMS is covered by all insurances and is available for those who prefer to pay out of pocket.

• No Down-Time

Treatment lasts between 15 and 37 minutes. The patient settles into a reclining chair, and can watch television or chat during their treatment. Patients may drive and return to normal activities immediately after treatment.
