Our Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation Intake Process
So you're thinking TMS may be right for you or a loved one. Wonderful, but you wonder "How do I get started"?
We are happy to help answer your questions. Our TMS intake process is a 6 step process that can take up to 4-6 weeks.
Step 1. Patient Phone Screen
By phone, our TMS coordinator will get to know you and to learn if TMS may be a right fit for you. For those struggling with depression, TMS may be the next best treatment. Call our office at 781-963-7775 to speak with our TMS coordinator to learn if TMS is appropriate for you.
Step 2. Online Patient Intake Forms
Patient's will fill out this form online. This form will ask you a few questions to describe your current symptoms and it will include a few forms to sign that will allow us to contact your providers.
Step 3. Contact Patient's Providers for Clinical Records
Once you have completed the intake form, we will contact your provider and gather your clinical records. These records will be reviewed by one of our TMS doctors who may determine that TMS is appropriate for you.
Step 4. Initial Consultation with TMS Doctor
Our doctors will set up an initial consultation appointment with the patient to review their clinical records, help the patient learn more about transcranial magnetic stimulation as an option for the treatment of their depression and whether or not it is a good fit.
Step 5. Request Prior Authorization from Patient's Insurance
Most insurances cover TMS treatment, but patient's must meet a certain criteria to get coverage. Currently TMS is only covered for patients with a diagnosis of major depressive disorder, but is being researched to help other patients with different neurological and mental health disorders.
